Nagahama Brewing: Kurokabe Stout

Pour:  Black like the body of an espresso shot.  One-fingered espresso creme colored head.

Nose:  Dark chocolate, Wood, whole bean coffee.

Taste: Hickory wood, medium-dark roast coffee, roasted malts, and a touch of chocolate.

Mouthfeel:  Light to medium body, soft small bubbles, pleasantly light carbonation.  Somewhat velvety.

Overall:  A nice, easy drinking stout.  Has a pleasant lightness to it, it’s not going to fill you up on it’s own.  Pairs well with salty or smokey foods: smoked brisket, or a hearty bacon mushroom burger,  even chocolate sea-salt caramels.  You can have one with the meal and one with your dessert.
